Today, we are leaving the Grand Canyon and traveling 435 miles back home, Borrego, Springs. The gas cost us $2.69 per gallon, which came out to total of $29.25. When we first arrived to Borrego, we decided to get some ice cream from to the Fudge Factory and reminisce about our 20-day trip around the United States. Vanessa, "What were your guy's favorite places on our trip?" Vivi, "My favorite was visiting Fort Sumter. This is because, not only did we visit the fort and learn about the place the war began, we also adopted a small dirty child we call Gaby! Finding and bringing her, made the experience better because we had one more friend to have fun with and learn a little history as we went on our trip." Carlos, "Which place was your favorite Vane?" Vanessa, "I would have to say that my favorite part was visiting Oklahoma City. Here, we got to eat at Subway multiple times and we were able to meet Russel Westbrook and get his autograph." Vivi, "What about yours Carlos?" Carlos, "Mine was visiting Memphis, Tennessee because here we got to visit the National Civil Rights Museum, which was not the best or most entertaining, but it was educational. On the other hand, visiting Graceland, the home of the man that helped create Rock 'N' Roll, or at least helped by spreading it with more than the youth was an event I won't be able to forget. Time traveling also makes the event pretty interesting in my opinion." Vivi, "What about your guy's least favorite place on the trip." Carlos, "Visiting Tombstone, Arizona was my least favorite part. I didn't like that it was dull, the place was only a "deserted" place, even though there were a lot of people, with some buildings included. Not saying anything about the shootings between the gangs was...bad, even if the entry was free. Any other place was better, even looking at a hole in the Earth, known as Meteor Crater." Gaby, "I know mine was visiting Roanoke. It was kind of boring because all we did was watch a reenactment of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. We didn't learn anything new about it since the reason for its disappearance is a mystery. Also, heading back home was extremely nostalgic for us. We, once again, had to return back to our old life and same monotonous routine of everyday. Now, all that's left is the amazing memories we forged together. This was an incredible experience and one that we will never forget and will learn to cherish everyday." Today, on the final day of our trip, we spent $29.25. At the end of 20 days for 20 days, we have a remaining budget of $1,257.03.
