My diary

Today, we are leaving Bean Town, Boston and 982 miles to Chicago, Illinois. We spent a total of $63.42 on gas. We stopped in New York, where the gas was $2.25. We also in Ohio, where the gas price was $3.00. Finally, we stopped in Illinois and bought 4.50 gallons of gasoline for $2.40 each. The first thing we did was go to the Untouchables Tour, but only Gaby took entered tour. (Because it was too expensive for all four us to go.) The cost for the tour was $35. Here, Gaby learned some interesting facts: (1) "In the 1920 during the Height of Prohibition, Capone's multi-million dollar Chicago operation in bootlegging, prostitution and gambling dominated the organized crime scene. (2) Capone was responsible for many brutal acts of violence, mainly against other gangsters. The most famous of these was the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1929, in which he ordered the assassination of seven rivals. (3) Capone was sent to the notorious island prison, Alcatraz, in 1934. Isolated there from the outside world, he could no longer wield his still considerable influence."
At the end of the day, we decided to stay in the Hi Chicago Hostel, that cost $21, due to the fact that the past three days we have been going over our budget too much. Today, we spent $119.42, and our budget is now $1,733. 50.
