Day 7 Munich

Weather: 15-23 with clouds.

Have mastered the heat with sheets.
Now to the day.

Sunday in Munich is very, very quiet.
Nearly every shop is closed and you had better have stocked up or it’s fast food for you.

Coffee of course and despite best efforts a pastry. But only one and shared.

After that we were of on the well named Number 17 tram to Nymphenburg Palace.

Nymphenburg was built in 1664 by Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria for his wife Henriette Adelaide of Savoy giving birth to the heir Max Emanuel. Bern got a pair of earrings.

Maxes were very big in Bavaria and for the next 250 years various Maxes and quite a few Ferdinands renovated and

expanded it. It was the summer residence for the court all way out in the country.

Terrific place with enormous garden in French formal and English landscape style.

We were not on a side trip to Venice. the gondala is there during the summer. For the price you could almost get to Venice.

There is an artificial ruin called the Magdalenehlause which has its own grotto and chapel, where you went doe reflection and prayer. Suspect beer was involved.

After a visit to the carriage museum, the porcelain museum and a walk along the grand canal we were off home with 7.5 kms on the clock.
Early night, always something as well and pastry in the morning.
