Day 10 Munich

It seems that Munich does get these warm/hot periods before autumn really starts. Also it seems that no one acknowledges them and thinks that maybe a fan or air conditioning might be a thing. Because it will be cold soon. And it appears that it will, next week’s forecast is snow and -1 to 8 degrees. We are excited.

It is now official, we just don't get modern art.
We just cant string enough meaningless words and cliches to describe crap as treasure.
Why do I say this because today we had a day at the museum. First was Museum Brandhurst, a modern art museum. A great building and some interesting pieces BUT we are going to give Hazal and Layla a roller and make a fortune.

Next door is Pinakothek Moderne. There are three Pinakothek in Munich, ( Latin/Greek for picture gallery, Old, New and Modern.
Opened in September 2002 after seven years of construction the $120 million, 22,000-square-meter building took a decade to finish because of bureaucratic fights around design and cost. , Ultimately it was completed by private initiatives and financing. The Modern is a hugh terrific piece of architecture and houses the Design Museum which was a joy. It also houses some great modern art and some incomprehensible bits of dross. According to the descriptions of the pieces we can't tell the difference.

Time getting on and feet getting sore we headed home for pasta, sauce and a glass of wine. Only 5.3 kms can’t see why we’re tied.

Overall good a good day with only 29 of the planned museums to go.
