Day 29 Munich

Interested day. Museums are closed today but we found one that was open.

Following the well established routine of carbohydrate and caffeine loading we went to the ARRI camera museum.

Helps that that’s where Sean works and has promised us lunch in the staff restaurant.

Michaela was keen to see where he spends his day and we all met at 1200.

Usually a tram stops almost outside the door but it’s under repair until Christmas so Ubahn 6 and the well known 150 bus filled the need.

ARRI had been in its inner city location since 1917 but moved to this new industrial park in 2020 in time for the Corona virus. The area is a huge mixed residential/commercial development.

The building is supposed to take its inspiration from the sprockets of a film reel. Could be or could be a great bit of architectural bull. You can judge.

Very nice building with great internal courtyard and excellent restaurant for staff and their hangers on.
Lunch with Fred and met a few of Sean’s workmates. Very friendly people, very filling food.

Not much else to report.

Oh, museum is interesting and the technology of modern cameras incomprehensible.
