Day 27 Munich

Weather 8-16

What an interesting day.

Plan was to go to a Bavarian style breakfast with Mick and Sean, go to a retro furniture store looking for a lounge chair and maybe a coffee table. Then a bit of lunch and an international Movie Club afternoon at Chez Birkerstraße.

Part one went well with Mark experiencing white sausages, pretzel, mustard, butter and alcohol free wheat beer. You could bet used to it.
Bernadette went all nostalgic with Vegemite on toast.

Part 2 started to unravel fairly quickly. A couple of rail lines are closed for work until November 13. Anyone who guessed one of them was ours would be right.
We pushed on and saw more that was planned of Munich’ suburbs.
The S8 train was due in 6 mins for about 25 mins. Just like being in the Bankstow line.

We made it to store and it was as you expect, a combination of the expensive and the cheap. The chair of choice was 1, 028 euro so the hunt continues.

Due to having old people with us we elected on an Uber to a cafe for lunch.

This was another place that Mark felt he should sit outside. Amazingly cool place and people. You only had to ask any of the crowd posting selfies and and Instagram.

They serve a toasted Ham and Tomato sandwich which comes with a fried egg on top with a pickle. Don’t know if this is a local addition or someone has been watching to many Korean YouTubes. Very good wherever it came from.

Bern and Mick both suffering from Uber vomits so fruit only.

Very nice neighbourhood so strolled the streets. You may stumble across a chair shop. We did find several but we didn’t think we could transfer enough foreign currency to buy one.

We did find the Mirror King of Munich.
Hundreds of mirrors and chandeliers in a basement. Tiny walkways between displays.
There couldn’t have been a stocktake since 1774. Incredible place.

Back to Birkerstraße to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with no chocctops but did have Indian food.
Great movie (4.3) and better company.

Uban home and bed.
