#Factor50Shades Darker

I am currently sat in a corridor next to my hostel sweating like a pig in a slaughter house! I’m tired, alone, my arm hurts! How did I end up this way?

It began at the airport and things were getting off to a good start. Arriving at immigration, the man looked at my passport- me with straight hair and with an expression only ever seen on a homeless heroin addict’s face after her children have been taken away from her, he looked at me sceptically. “Hmmm…this you?”
“Yes.” I replied nervously.
“Okay. You go.” Good to know they just take people's word for it. “You have gun?”
(Holding gun) “No!”
“Okay, off you go!” It didn’t fill me with confidence but I was glad he believed the sad soul on that shiny page could indeed be me. The next few stages went well apart from a gross man who was gobbing in a bin.
Got bag: check
Find train: check
Find bus: check
I asked the driver, "So, where do I walk from here?" the bus

Find bus: check
I asked the driver, "So, where do I walk from here?" the bus

driver pointed absentmindedly in the general directions of right. Great! This should be easy with no WiFi and no idea where the hell I was. But it actually was easy, I found the street straight away. I walked down the street. Then back up…then down again…then back up. I asked a random stranger. “No speak English!”

Oh God! I am going to die in Hong Kong by spending the entire day walking up and down these dodgy back alleys. Luck struck when I saw a Holiday Inn, as my feet squeaked on the marble lobby floors, I wished I had booked to stay in the luxury suites with a warm bubble bath and soft duvet. The man showed me on the map where to go.

Another half an hour of walking up and down a different street.
“Why did these men lie to me? WHY!?” Just as I was deciding if it was worthwhile weeping on the street, I noticed that I could get free WiFi and Google mapped my way to the building I had walked past at least six times! It had no indication of the hostel and it was covered in wooden scaffolding. But I found it! Huzzah! Now all I need to do is check in my bag and I can head out and explore.

“But Julie?” I hear you ask, “Why are you on the floor in a corridor weeping silently into your phone?”
It’s a funny story really, after being lost for almost an hour, I found my hostel and uh..ha..it’s bloody CLOSED! WWWAAAHHHHHH!!! Luckily it’s only 8am so hopefully I’ll be out soon...
