#What'sWithMeatInACake?

Melbourne, 21.02.2018

The next day the sun was out and it was a beautiful day so I went with Becca to the beach. There were no waves, the sea was shallow and still, so I ventured in, confident that drowning was an unlikely possibility unless I were to trip on a rock and fall facedown into the water, fall unconscious and no one would notice because they're all asleep or drunk...or high! The fear now gripped me. I waded in shin deep, checking for rocks and pebbles as I walked. Luckily the water was clear enough to see through it so I avoided falling to my death easily; only having to dodge an odd fish here or there.

After my swim (I made it back alive you'll be happy to notice) we sat and cooked for a while in the sun whilst chatting and people watching (the polite terminology for people judging). I soon was close enough to Becca to mock her Northern accent and can now speak fluent Wigan!
Book rhymes with spook. Me friends means My friends. Shud up

means shut up. And that is probably what Becca was thinking whilst I copied her every word.

In the evening I went to visit my friend Maxime that I had met in Wellington. I caught the tram and used google maps to navigate myself to the centre of Melbourne where after getting lost a few times trying to find the right tram, I ended up in China Town. We had Chinese food and I ate a cake with meat in it. If you are repulsed by the thought of it, I understand, the concept is pretty disgusting but don’t knock it until you try it because meaty cake is actually really tasty! The squishy white stuff that like looked like soggy wraps however, was not tasty!

After meaty cake we went and got a drink at an Irish pub (I'm not sure if it was in China town but if it was, they didn't get the memo). The streets were buzzing with people but it still had the relaxed atmosphere of Melbourne. It's the sort of place where you don't feel any urge to get up and go or rush around. People just stroll about, chilled out, maybe they'll get to work on time, maybe not! No one really cares! I loved that about it.
