"I'm going to get up at 6 and go for a run,"I told Julia before we fell asleep. 7am came and I rose lazily from my bed, tired from the wine and last nights heated debates. We went to get coffees/hot chocolates where we met a llama (although it was argued that it was an alpaca...it was a llama) #LlamaFace!

Anyway, it was still early by the time we arrived at Montezuma falls and I was dressed for action. My time in lycra town (Aka Dee Why) where rich people wear lycra on a daily basis to give you the impression they are fit and active had trained me well for my outfit. Bright leggings with floral panels, trainers and a matching sports bra! Let's go!

I decided that if I quit my couch to 5km now, I would never start again, so I ran the first 20 minutes of the walk. (I say ran, it was mostly a brisk walk). Soon, I was alone, it was deathly silent except for a light bristle of leaves and the occasional squark of a bird. I followed the old railway track as my breath regulated itself until I was able to breathe like a normal Homo Sapien and less like a deranged warthog being chased by a hyena #LionKingMoments!

Anyway! Eventually the rest of the group caught me up, we checked out an old mining cave and then found the waterfall. It was incredible! Standing at 449m, the water rushed rapidly down its jagged steps. Across from it stood a suspension bridge that dangled cagily above a height similar to that of the falls! (Might be slightly exaggerating here). We stood across from each other taking photos and all gingerly tiptoed across the bridge trying not to lose our phones to the rocks beneath us!

The walk back felt much longer and I almost regretted the run but I also know that the comedian who narrates my runs, Sarah Millican, said she was proud of me so that's always nice!

Our next stop was in an old fishing town called Strahan. They make a lot of wood there, there are some boats, I ate a pie...that's pretty much all you need to know about Strahan.

On our way out of the town however, we were told a very dark tale! Very dark indeed!
A group of convicts managed to escape into the bush. They hadn’t eaten for days and were starving. Not used to living in the wild and with pretty terrible hunting skills (More used to the stealing life like some of our fellow tour goers...let's not talk about communism again!) they hadn't eaten for days, stomachs rumbling, thinning each day, they were sluggish and tired then... Crash! One of them fell and

Montezuma Falls

"I'm going to get up at 6 and go for a run,"I told Julia before we fell asleep. 7am came and I rose lazily from my bed, tired from the wine and last nights heated debates. We went to get coffees/hot chocolates where we met a llama (although it was argued that it was an alpaca...it was a llama) #LlamaFace!

Crash! One of them fell and

broke his arm. While he sat there rocking in pain, the men started getting ideas. It was like the scene in Madagascar where the friendly Lion wants to eat Chris Rock a zebra #Don'tEatYourFriends

They decided to kill and eat him and soon 5 became 4, then 4 became 3, then it was a competition of who can stay awake the longest. Before long, all but one of the men had been eaten. He turned himself in and admitted to eating the others but they didn’t believe him and just thought he was trying to get out of being in that particularly horrible prison so they sent him back. The next time he escaped with a young 20-year old. This time he brought his shin bone back to prove that he’d munched him. They sentenced him to hang. #See!Don'tEatYourFriends!
