A Reading From My Diary

Today i will be leaving Tennessee. I am currently packing my bags, and loading them into my car, right outside of my suite, in Vista Inn. Before my departure to this journey I am going to stop at the Exxon gas station, which is only 6 minutes away from my suite. I am now at the Exxon, and the current gas price is $2.39. The total amount I fed my car with fuel is $33. I am all set to start my Journey to St.Louis. I can't wait to visit the Gateway Arch. My trip is going to take a total of 4 hours and 11 minutes. Since this isn't a long trip, I will have more time to take the tour of Clydesdales. I just passed Cape Girardeau and I have been driving for 2 hours and 33 minutes. I have 1 hour and 46 min left till my destination, at Gateway Arch. I am finally here at Gateway Arch, and oh my wowza it is humungous. I went on the ride on the arch, which is $13 and on this ride I discovered magnificent views from the top of St. Louis’ Gateway Arch—an iconic monument symbolizing the city’s role as early settlers pioneered westward years ago. See both the history and culture surrounding the city—from 630 feet high in this architectural wonder. The Gateway Arch is a 630-foot monument in St. Louis in the U.S. state of Missouri. Clad in stainless steel and built in the form of a weighted catenary arch, it is the world's tallest arch, and the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere. Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (JNEM) was created in 1935, and became part of the National Park Service. Civic leader Luther Ely Smith conceived the idea of building a memorial to help revive the riverfront and memorialize the story of the nation’s westward expansion. Through a nationwide design competition conducted 1947–1948, Eero Saarinen’s stainless steel Arch was chosen as the memorial that would celebrate the accomplishments of early pioneers. St. Louis celebrated with a groundbreaking on June 23, 1959. Over the next few years, Saarinen perfected his design and workers began excavating the grounds in 1961. I had so much fun visiting both places. I stopped by the gift shop to buy myself a little souvenir of my trip. I bought a small plastic arch of $7. I like to buy small souvenirs from places i visit so i can have them as a memory of the places i have gone to and what not. Now that i have visited, and learned about the Gateway Arch i will be driving 2 hours and 9 mins to Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, MO. I have already made my reservation for a guided walking tour. We get to, interact with Clydesdale handlers, see the Clydesdales’ harness, luxury trailer and 1903 beer wagon, Take photo with a Clydesdale, Sample Budweiser beer (Guests 21+ only)... too bad i'm only 16, or i'd be going ham on those samples. The duration of the whole tour is 1.5 hours (1hr & 30min). The cost of the tour is $15 per adult. I had so much visiting both the arch & Warm Springs Ranch. I'll be definitely visiting Warm Springs Ranch in the future when I am a the proper age to drink ;). I'm going to head to my hotel that is 11 minutes from my location. I just arrived to my hotel and the price of one room is $52. I'm all settled in, and i had such a fun, eventful day, and i'm honestly so tired. I cannot wait for what's next in my journey. Stay tuned for the 7th journey.
