Hello you! Yes, you! Welcome back, to Dennise adventures. I am leaving Meteor Crater in Arizona, but before I leave I have to feed my car some fuel. I will be stopping at Ike's Mini Market just off the highway on 117 E Fremont St. I spent $44 on gas for a full tank. I am now on the road "On the road again, I can't wait to get on the road again." lol. This trip is going to be 5 hours and 25 min. I stop to stretch when I begin getting tired from driving so that way I can handle the rest. I'm getting pretty tired of driving, but I just got to Phoenix. I have 2 hours and 48 minutes left of my trip. I have now arrived to the destination Tombstone, AZ. Before I start this trip I am going to give you a little insight of Tombstone. Tombstone is a town in southeastern Arizona, is a registered National Historic Landmark. Known as "The Town Too Tough To Die," it is the most famous of Arizona's old mining camps. Known for its Wild West history. Tombstone is an historic city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States, founded in 1879 by prospector Ed Schieffelin in what was then Pima County, Arizona Territory. It became one of the last boomtowns in the American frontier. On this day in 1881, the “law and order” Earps and the “cowboy” Clanton-McLaurys engage in their world-famous shoot-out near the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona. Both sides in the conflict were apparently looking for revenge for what they recognize as malicious attacks and insults, but on a larger level the conflict revolved around which side would control the fate of Tombstone and Cochise County. The Earp brothers—Wyatt; Virgil, the town marshal; and Morgan—along with their friend Doc Holliday, spotted a group of cattle rustlers—Ike and Billy Clanton, Tom and Frank McLaury, and Billy Claiborne, at the other end of Fremont Street, standing in a vacant lot behind the OK Corral. To Learn about these events we visited Allen Street, O.K. Corral and, Boot hill Graveyard. Other Historical places in this town are: Bisbee (Founded in 1880 as a mining camp, the town’s rich copper ore quickly catapulted Bisbee onto the map as the largest city between St. Louis and San Francisco. A town of colorful architecture and equally colorful characters.) Goldfield is another historical place in this area (Goldfield is perched on a small hill between the Superstition Mountains and Goldfield Mountains. Gold was discovered here in 1892, and the town quickly sprang to life.) I had so much fun exploring around Tombstone, I totally recommend visiting here. The lodging I chose to stay at for the night is Sagebrush Inn, it is a 5 minute walk from O.K. Corral. They charged me $58 for one night. I am now down to $98. out of $200. Our Journey continues...
