Hi, today I will be leaving South Carolina, and traveling to The Lost Colony located in North Carolina. Before i leave i will be stopping for gas at Circle K, which is 41 min away from my location. I am now on my way to the gas station. I have now arrived. The total amount of money I spent on a full tank of fuel is $52. This trip is 6 hours and 40 minutes long. I am now on the road headed to North Carolina. I am halfway into my trip, I just arrived to Rowland, NC, passing South Carolina. I have 4 hours and 18 minutes to reach my destination. I have now finally after almost 7 hours of driving, arrived to Roanoke Island Festival Park a.k.a. the Lost Colony in North Carolina. My ticket to enter is $7. Roanoke Island Festival Park is a North Carolina state historic site located at the end of NC 400 in Manteo, North Carolina on Roanoke Island. The Roanoke Adventure Museum is an interactive museum about the history of Roanoke Island and the Outer Banks. Exhibits include the colonial-era English settlers and Native Americans, ships and maritime history, Civil War history including the local Freedmen's Colony, and a 1900s era general store display. Many displays include hands-on activities for children. Roanoke Island is an island in Dare County on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, United States. It was named after the historical Roanoke Carolina Algonquian people who inhabited the area in the 16th century at the time of English exploration. Before Jamestown and Plymouth, the English attempted to forge a colony at Roanoke. Within three years, it had disappeared, leaving a mysterious clue behind. The origins of one of the America’s oldest unsolved mysteries can be traced to August 1587, when a group of about 115 English settlers arrived on Roanoke Island, off the coast of what is now North Carolina. Later that year, it was decided that John White, governor of the new colony, would sail back to England in order to gather a fresh load of supplies. But just as he arrived, a major naval war broke out between England and Spain, and Queen Elizabeth I called on every available ship to confront the mighty Spanish Armada. What really happened to the Roanoke settlers ? My guess is, maybe the settlers wanted to move elsewhere. Maybe they didn't like it there, and decided to relocate to somewhere else. This day was an exciting, eventful day. I had so much fun visiting and learning about The Lost Colony in North Carolina. Tonight i will be spending the night at Scarborough Inn, a motel 6. The motel is 8 minutes from my location. I just arrived to my hotel, and the price for my room is $60. It is time to get some rest for tomorrow's journey. Stay tuned for the tenth journey.
