Retirement Odyssey - Part 2

Nice breakfast this morning and warm enough to eat outdoors in the courtyard of our hotel. Brilliant sunlight and cloudless blue skies like most of our days in Greece.

After breakfast, Ioanna led us on a 3 mile walk along the sea to the Vychlos Beach where the majority of our group rented lounge chairs under umbrellas made of reeds. Went for a swim in the crystal clear aquamarine water which is just about the same temperature as the water at the rec center pool, even now in mid-October! Some of us decided to take the shuttle boat back to Hydra. It was a fast, fun ride!

Saw a "pride" of cats on the dock this morning patiently waiting for the leftovers from a fisherman who had already returned with his days catch. Also saw a donkey heavily loaded with something that had just been unloaded off a boat in the harbor. (see photos)

Tonight we have another happy hour here at the hotel courtyard, then we think we'll go around the corner to a nice looking taverna that is shaded by a HUGE wisteria vine.

We've got a very early start planned for tomorrow; breakfast at 6:00 then leave from the hotel at 6:45 to catch the 7:05 fast ferry (catamaran) to Athens. Christo, our bus driver, will meet us there and take us to the National Archeological Museum for a guided tour, our last of this Rick Steves adventure.
