After yesterday’s false start, I think we were a bit more on to it today. Stashed our bags and off to the local for a coffee and pastry, then back on the metro to Notre Dame. Craig and I were lucky enough to see her in all her glory years ago so we were quite keen to see how the repairs were going. Sad to see the state of the grand structure, but it looks like they are taking meticulous care with the rebuild. Finally we were at the Gare de Lyon at the right time and on the right day to head to Zurich. A lovely quick train through the countryside and then into Zurich by evening. There we checked into the Novotel and ate a delicious dinner followed by a quick dip in the hotel pool. Lovely bit of luxury before the next hectic day.
