Christmas Holiday

Had a beautiful sleep under the stars. Then up for an epic buffet breakfast! Had all the usual suspects but with some more traditional Nordic specialities including cold cuts, cheese, pickles and smoked salmon. In heaven!

Then it was time to bundle up for some tobogganing! It was super chilly on the chair lift (check out the ice on our eyelashes) but we had two great runs down the mountain before needing to warm up with a glass of Finnish mulled wine.

We had a bit of time to spend before dinner and our next adventure, so we walked down to Saariselka. Refuelled with hot chocolate and a slice of chocolate cake before walking back up the hill to dinner. Lots of traditional food to choose from plus delicious desserts. Filled our tummies way too much as we needed plenty of energy for our snowmobile tour! Great fun to drive although absolutely freezing. Luckily all the kids travelled in a sleigh behind our guide which was warmer. Glad to have full face helmets on too. No Aurora to be seen unfortunately as it was quite overcast.
