Dear diary,
Something terrible happened today. On my way home from school I was biking on the bike path and suddenly something hit into me from behind. I looked behind me and saw that someone else's bike was scraping into my tire. I tried to swerve away but it was so sudden that I tipped over and the person behind me fell over with me. My leg was in a very awkward position because I had been trying to stop myself from falling. The other persons bike was on top of my back tire so I was pinned to the ground. My leg hurt really badly. People around me were talking and I heard someone saying something about calling the ambulance. The sun was in my eyes. I couldn't think. Suddenly everything was black.
I woke up sitting on a bench near the spot where I had fallen. A doctor was sitting next to me. She was inspecting my leg. She asked me to tell her when it hurt. She started turning it in different directions. It hurt really badly anyway she moved it. She said that I had broken my leg but it wasn't too bad. She said that I should call my parents and she would carry me to the ambulance. I asked her if the other person on the bike was okay and she said yes. I called my parents. They were shocked. They said that they would come to the hospital right away. The doctor told me which hospital we were going to and I told my parents. Then they hung up and I was carried to the ambulance. It was really embarrassing. But at the moment I didn't care about anything because my leg hurt so badly. The ambulance smelled like medicine. The doctor checked my heart beat. It was really depressing in the ambulance. It didn't have any windows. And the walls were all white. There were all kinds of scary looking tools on shelves and in plastic boxes. When we finally got to the hospital my parents were there waiting for me. They helped me up the stairs while following the doctor. When we got to the emergency room a different doctor took an x-ray of my leg. I was allowed to see it. It was so amazingly weird to see the bones in my leg. And especially to see my broken bone. It was cracked in half but still in place. The doctor got a cast for me. It took him a long time to put it on my leg. It hurt more then anything that had ever happened to me. I now sympathize with anyone that has ever broken a bone. The doctor said that I could go home after I got my crutches and he also said that I couldn't get my cast wet and I would have to come back in three days for a checkup. We waited outside of the doctors room for my crutches. That is the story of how I broke my right leg.
