Dear diary,
Today I took Cora on a walk. I took her down the street that is right next to our house and that goes into the Vondel park. There are tennis courts on that street. There is a side street there and Cora always tries to go there but we don't let her because there might be cats and we don't want her to go crazy because she sees one. When I walked past there today there was an orange cat. Cora didn't see it at first but the cat meowed and Cora heard it. She started barking and growling. She ran to the end of her leash. I picked her up because that usually calms her down a bit. Then something unexpected happened. The cat jumped on me and Cora. I was so surprised that I fell over and dropped Cora's leash. The cat ran away and Cora ran with her. The cat was cornered. Cora and the cat stood still and stared at each other. I secretly hoped that the cat would scratch Cora so that she would learn her lesson and stop looking for cats out of the window every day. I slowly walked to Cora and picked up her leash. I tried to pull her away from the cat but she wouldn't budge. I didn't want to hurt her so I picked her up. She growled but I ignored her. I turned around and walked towards the park. I looked back but I didn't see the cat. I kept walking. Once I was in the park I put Cora down. I heard hissing. I looked down and I saw the cat! It had followed us into the park! I turned around and ran, pulling Cora along with me. We ran until we got to our house. I rang the doorbell. The cat hadn't followed us. My brother opened the door and I quickly went inside. I took off Cora's leash and she immediately went to the window to watch for the cat.
