Dear diary,
Today I went to school like usual. It was a normal school day except that we were allowed to go home two hours early because our French teacher had a meeting. I was told this great news by a girl in our French class. It seemed to good to be true that we would be out two hours early so I asked our French teacher and she said that she couldn't teach us today. I did my best to contain my happiness until I got outside. After that I biked straight home. Once I was home I decided to read a book for a little while because I didn't have any homework to do. The book that I read is called 'Who could that be at this hour' by Lemony Snicket. After that I went outside in my backyard. My brothers, Sam and Nate, and my dog Cora were also outside. I walked over to the door that connects our house to an alley. There were boards covering up the door so that Cora couldn't squeeze through the hole under the door and escape. The boards weren't fully covering the door so I decided to take the boards off of the door and put them back in a way that they wouldn't keep falling. It wasn't a fun job because there were all kinds of insects on the boards and the ground under the door was uneven so it was hard to make the boards fit together nicely. When I was done I went back inside.
