Dear diary,
Today me and my family went to the zoo. We took the tram there. When we were only three stops away from our destination the tram suddenly stopped and I bumped into an old lady. The tram driver spoke into the intercom and said: 'Sorry everybody but some teenagers have put rocks on the tram tracks so we can not proceed. You will have to wait a little while.' A couple was frantically pushing the button to open the tram doors but they wouldn't budge. They had big suitcases with them. Maybe they had to catch a plane. If they did I hoped they wouldn't miss their flight.
We had been waiting in the tram for about half an hour. We still hadn't heard anything from the tram driver. It had been hailing for a while now. I could barely see out of the window because of the stream of water running down it. I was really bored. If the tram ever did move it would be terrible weather to go to the zoo anyways.
Finally we heard the intercom crackling and saying: 'All is clear. We can go.' I sighed with relief. I couldn't stand being in that cold tram with nowhere to sit and nothing to do.
When we got to the zoo it had stopped hailing. We walked around for a little while. The zoo was deserted. We only saw two family's. We walked across a bridge to go see the giraffes. There was a family of ducks right next to the bridge. I leaned over the railing to get a better look at them. Something bumped into me from behind and I fell into the water! It was horrible! There was a layer of mud at the bottom. I could stand and the water only got up to my shoulders. The ducks swam away as fast as they could. I felt something touch my leg. It touched me again. Meanwhile my family was shouting at me from the bridge to see if I was okay. I said yes. I looked down to see what the things were that were touching my legs. They were only fish. I quickly swam back to shore. My parents pulled me out. After that we went straight home. I was really embarrassed. The whole way home everyone stared at me as I stood there shivering and dripping water.
I hope that never happens ever again. Although now it seems quite funny if I think about it.
