My diary

Dear diary,
Today I went to my friends birthday party. It was really fun. They had rented a boat. It was really big and there were three levels. There were also games and food. First we looked around the boat. There was a little ladder at the back. It lead down to a small platform. We all climbed to down onto it. Suddenly a wave came and got our feet wet. We all scrambled back up the ladder laughing. We took off our shoes and rolled up our pants and went back down. We jumped up any time a wave came. It was really fun down there but a little scary because the railing only came up to our knees so we could easily fall into the water. After a little while our feet got really cold so we climbed up the ladder. We split up into groups to go look for towels to dry our feet off with. Me and another girl went to the top of the boat. There was no roof. There was nothing there except for some tables and chairs. We went down one floor and helped two of the other kids look. There was a closet with a broom, some sprays, soap and rags. We took some of the rags with us downstairs to show the other kids what we had found. The other kids had found some towels so we put the rags back. Unfortunately by the time we could dry off our feet they were already almost dry. After that we got some cake. We took it up to the top floor. We sat down at the tables. There were seagulls flying over us. One actually dived down to try and eat a piece of our cake! One of my friends screamed and another fell of their chair. We quickly took the cake back to the first floor before the seagulls started attacking us. After we ate we played monopoly. The birthday girl won. While we were playing our second round the boat suddenly stopped moving. We went out to the outside part of the first floor. The captain of the boat was there to. He told us that there was something wrong with the motor. We asked him if there was anything he could do about it. He said that he would have to go down to the motor and look, but he thought that he probably wouldn't be able to fix it. Ten minutes later the captain came up to us and said that he wouldn't be able to fix the motor. We asked him what we would do now that we were stranded in the ocean with a boat that didn't work. He said that we would have to take the lifeboat back to shore. We looked over the side of the boat. There was a small boat there that looked like it could only fit four people! And there were about ten people on the boat! We all tried to get into it. I was hanging half out of the boat. I had to sit on the very edge. It was actually really fun in that lifeboat. There were big waves that made it go up and down. The only thing that I didn't like was that my feet got really wet. After about ten minutes we finally reached the dock and we were able to get out of the lifeboat.
