Lost and Found

Dazed and confused, just like Burke and Wills, we tried to return to the narrow canal where we were seized to find the villager with the elegant rowboat. Perhaps we could garotte him and steal his boat.

Instead we found ourselves lost among a maze of streets and canals, along which the ubiquitous boatmen transported other poor souls, presumably to the lunatic asylum. It is likely these boatmen are evil robots who are impervious to the wrath of the gods.

We waved and yelled to the passengers to warn them, but they just smiled and waved, and took our photographs. The price of fame ...

Eventually, Vaporetto 5.2 turned up and we were able to escape from the deserted floating village. We disembarked at a pleasant beach, where a nice man in a white coat asked us to describe our experiences at sea. He took copious notes, presumably for his novel, and asked us to stay awhile in his sheltered workshop.

He administered gelato to restore the chemical imbalances in our bodies, and calmed our minds by engaging us in the production of gorgeous glass ornaments of Mary. We hope to find a pool room somewhere in Italy deserving of these.

Mary herself underwent a Himalayan seashell meditation with dancing Buddhas to restore her modesty.

There was no sign of the camels or the piano.
