#BonditoCoogee

At 11am I met my guide and 4 other people to do the Bondi walk. The walk didn't go as far as Coogee so I decided I would do that bit on my own.

We started off at the beach and walked up and around the Iceberg Club and up towards the coastal route. At the top of the hill we sat on the rocks and looked out for whales. In the distance we saw the tell tale sign of a whale as it blasted steam into the air. Hump back whales are travelling with their babies and there are heaps of them!

We sat for ages watching two in particular as they took it in turns to blow the cold water out and even flashed us their backs as they swam across the ocean. We continued our walk along the coast, stopping occasionally to look at different birds and plants. The guide had the sound of a kookaburra on his phone that they played to catch the attention of one on the telephone pole, the little thing looked everywhere for his friend and you could see the confusion in his face.

We also saw a king fisher with a very wobbly neck. We suspected that it was ill but it turns out that that's how they hunt- presumably to distort where their beaks are to enable them to catch their prey.

Once we reached Bronte I was left alone so I found a nice spot on a rock over looking the ocean and ate my lunch. I couldn't believe the others didn't extend their walk by the extra hour. The beaches along the coast were like paradise and reminded me of Krabi in Thailand. The sea was so turquoise and the sand was soft and white. The beaches were quiet too and sheltered from the wind. I was annoyed for not bringing my swimming costume because I could have spent all day there!

I ploughed on and reluctantly left the little beach fearing that I might never get to Coogee the pace I was going. I walked along more of the coast line and saw more beautiful beaches. One beach was lined with little boats and had lots of comfy looking rocks so I dipped my toes in the water again refusing to move on with the walk.

Eventually the walk took me to Coogee where I found the beach. It was very similar to Bondi but not as busy or built up. I didn't spend long there as I was too tired to move! I debated walking back but as I'm not completely insane, I decided to get the bus instead.
