#LakeMckenzie&TheRayofSun

McKenzie Lake Fraser Island, 17.10.2017

Our final morning on Fraser Island began more positively, everyone was dry, slept better and I even saw another dingo snooping around near the camp.

With just a few more hours to enjoy Fraser Island we hoped the break in the rain would last long enough to just enjoy one more lake! The biggest freshwater lake, lake Mackenzie. It was beautiful and we even spotted a ray of sunlight through one of the clouds. It remained dry the entire time allowing us to take photos and dip our feet in the water.

As much as I tried to make the best of it, I couldn't help the wave of disappointment that 'washed' (excuse the pun) over me as I thought about how incredible those two days would have been had there been sun or even just in the dry. But, I was lucky enough to have shared it with great people and still see some beautiful places! And of course it rained! I was camping!
