During my research of things to do in Juan-les-pins I came across a the story of walking route on the cape that used to be used by smugglers. I found a map of the track so that became our trek of the day.
We had to walk 50 minutes to even begin the walk. We started out along the waterfront amidst the morning joggers. The road was narrow and so was our designated walking lane on the road. No footpath here. There was a nice breeze keeping us cool and plenty of stops for Ian to take photos.
We left the coastline and headed uphill among the multi million dollar homes and began the smuggler's route along a walled path that lead to the beach. The coastline was rugged and the rocks and cliff very dangerous looking... and that is exactly where the map lead us.
There was a path and at times we traversed over the rocks. The path went around the cliff face up and down rocky stairs. Threre was the odd hidden cave along the route as you would probably expect.
We cut the smuggler's route short because we arrived at a beach that was close to our road home. It was time to go home to pack and get ready for our last night out in Juan-les-pins.

We cut the smuggler's route short because we arrived at a beach that was close to our road home. It was time to go home to pack and get ready for our last night out in Juan-les-pins.
The restaurant we chose for dinner was "La Plage Colombier" and it was magnificent. Something we will both remember forever. Front row table on the water's edge with feet in the sand watching the sun slowly set on the Riviera. How did we get so lucky? The seafood was delicious, the wine was great and we shared chocolate cake for dessert. During the night a shooting star fell from the sky over the Mediterranean Sea. How does it get any better than that? We walked all the way back to our apartment on the beach.
There was a party at the restaurant across the street playing some great music and then from our balcony, we watched a fireworks display over the Cap D'Antibes to finish the night. Ian said he planned it all.
