So today was our travel day, finally we're off to South America, our first vacation together! We left home around 4 AM to catch our 6 AM flight to Miami. Everything went well, our bags were a little overweight but after we took some stuff out everything was fine. One of Joshua's colleagues and good friends Andy worked on our flight to Miami so that was a lot of fun. The flight went by real fast and we got a little special treatment on board haha. After we got into Miami at 8 AM we went with Andy to get some breakfast. We went to this cute little cuban place where they serve the best coffee and I had some really nice French toast. At 10:50 AM we had to go on our next flight to Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. The flight was really full but the gate agent gave us seats next to each other so that was great. We sat the entire flight next to a cargo pilot who flies to Guyana and Surinam all the time, she was super nice and we had a lot of fun talking to her. At 15:30 we arrived in POS. You could

directly feel the heat coming towards us (Remember we left -12 degrees celsius and came into 28 degrees celcius, so that was a big change!) POS is a real caribbean island. Real warm and sunny and nothing goes fast there. We had to pick our bags up (we had 5 carry-ons!!!!) and they came real slow haha! But we finally got them all and went to check them in for our next and last flight. Our bags we're a little overweight so Josh used all his manly charmes to convince the lady behind the counter that we didn't have to pay, and it worked! We didn't pay anything and we still got all our bags checked in! We went to get some chicken (they say the fried chicken from Trinidad is the best fried chicken in the world!) and we met some nice people in the bar there. The people on this island are so friendly and welcoming you feel at home straight away! Ofcourse the warm weather helps a lot! So we hanged out with them for a little while and got invited to the wedding of their cousins next year LOL!
Our last flight was leaving at 20:50 but at 20:38 there was still no flight and then we found out with a bunch of people that there was a gate change! Nobody heard that so we barely made our flight, but we got on luckily! The flight was super empty so we got a lot of space for ourselves that was so nice! At 22:00 we finally made it to Guyana! YAY! What a great place to be, it was late at night but the sky's were
so clear you could see all the stars and it was still so nice and warm, It feels so good to be back in the caribbean, I really missed it. Time to go home now, Vick, Josh' cousin came to pick us up from the airport so we had fun driving home. It's 1,5 hour to go from the airport to their house so we got to see something of Guyana already although it was dark. The house is really nice and we have a room with Airconditioning so that is really nice in this hot weather. Unfortunately they don't have warm water in the shower here so that was kind of a thing, quick in and quick out hahaha! But it's all so nice and warm that that doesn't really matter! I love it here and Vick and his wife Romona are super kind and friendly people! Now time to sleep and enjoy the new day tomorrow!
