Today was the best day! We went all the way to the inland of Guyana. All the way to the brazilian border! At first Josh was a little anxious to go because his uncles told all scary stories about tourists being kidnapped and being taken away from their groups, so he was scared they would take me, but I can tell you up front all went well, he kept a really close eye on me and kept me safe at all times! Our day started at 8 AM. We had to be at Ogle airport at 9 AM and had a 10 AM departure. After our plane was packed and ready to go we started boarding. We went with one of those little planes who fit like 12 people at the time. The flight to Kaieteur was 58 minutes so time went by really fast. The view from the airplane is amazing! Flying over the amazon you realize how majastic that big rainforest is. Did you ever noticed that Guyana and Suriname look like a really big broccoli from above haha! I love flying and I can't describe it, you should see it for yourself! So we landed in Kaieteur national park on a very small and tiny runway. from there on we had to walk to

So we landed in Kaieteur national park on a very small and tiny runway. from there on we had to walk to
Kaieteur fall. The Kaieteur fall is the largest single drop fall on earth. It is 5 times higher (226m) then the Niagra falls so you can imagine how insanely big it is. From our starting point at the cabin there were 3 viewing points to go see the fall. We had to walk a little bit through the jungle to go to the first point. This was the Johnson point, named after the first explorer who found this viewing point. It was really amazing the see. this waterfall is so majestic and big. At this view point we also saw the golden frog. This is a very tiny little frog that only lives near the Kaieteur fall, you can find in nowhere in the world so you can imagine how great it was that we saw that! Next up to the next view point. This point was called the BoyScout view point because back in 1932 a group of boyscouts discovered the place and made the path to it. There is still an inscription from them in the rocks how cool! This view point was a little closer and we got to see more of the waterfall. Again really really pretty. After this on to our
last view point. The rainbow view point. We came so insanely close to the waterfall now you could see and hear it all so well. All the view points are really high, so it is a little dangerous to watch over the edge since there a no fences. But you can crawl up to the edge and take a look over it, if you do that you feel so free, free like a bird, what an amazing view that was, looking into that deep valley all the way down, words are too sort to describe that (I have to say Josh was the bravest of us all because he did it first!) We continued our walk and found the Cock of the Rock bird. A real pretty red bird which you don't find very often, but I guess we were really lucky today! We also found the stream of youth. Legends from the native people here say if you drink this water or wash your face with it you will feel like you are 10 years younger! Ofcourse we had to try that! Unfortunately we didn't feel a lot younger but it was fun nevertheless. After our 360 degrees route around the viewing points it was time for lunch! We had some great cook up rice, bbq chicken and macaroni and cheese made by our fantastic guides! After lunch we went back in the airplane and took off to Orinduik falls. This fall is a lot smaller but the cool thing about this is that you can swim in it and it separates the Guyanese border from the Brazilian border! So how cool is it that we went to both Guyana and Brazil! Flying from Kaieteur to Orinduik only takes 20 minutes so we were there in no time. We could swim,
hang around, chill and climb on rocks as much as we want to! Sitting under the waterfall is really nice because you get a free back massage, it's amazing how much power is behind those water streams and this is only a small waterfall! Can you imagine how big the power is at Kaieteur? We had an amazing time at Orinduik, Me and Josh climbed a little on the rocks all the way to the top and after that we walked our way down with the guides and swum in a little pond. The water here is black/brownish almost like coca-cola but it is really clear water so that is nice. The only thing about it is that it is really cold so at first Josh wasn't to eager to come in but after a while it feels really nice being in the water! The ground around Orinduik is not the amazon it is more like a savanna so you get a beautiful view of the mountains and everything that is around! After this local people came to sell us stuff they made and Josh bought me a really sweet heart necklace as a little remembrance! After this we went back to the plane and started our 1 hr and 20 min flight back to Georgetown.
Flying back of the majestic rainforest while the sun is going down we look back at an amazing and wonderful and loving day with so much fun and laughter!
