Guyana & Suriname

So one of the unhandy things of being in a third world country is black-outs and internet that stops. Haha. Joshua and I wanted to book our flights back home but because there was a weird mix up with the payments so the internet was cut off here. Joshua and I went to a internet cafe to book our tickets and have some breakfast and smoothies. Since we were downtown we decided to walk to the Cathedral. The Cathedral downtown here is the largest wooden church in the world and it is very old and beautiful. The Cathedral was build in 1894 and from the inside it is very pretty and you can see all these ancient plaque’s they have dedicated to all these

The Cathedral was build in 1894 and from the inside it is very pretty and you can see all these ancient plaque’s they have dedicated to all these

knights who did remarkeble things for the country. After that we went to Guyana public library. It’s a really old library where they have books and records from a very long time ago and because the internet is not so great in Guyana the people still go there a lot to search things up and use all the books so that was really need to see.
For lunch I had my very favorite dish! Fish and chips from this place called Nicky's. I love that food! In the afternoon when we came home Josh decided to make me a fresh bottle of coconut water, since I'm really addicted to it LOL! I love the fresh coconut water they have here! In the evening Joshua’s uncle david took us out to have drinks and dinner in this local bar in another town. David is not a real uncle he is a really close family friend that lives very close by. He is a very well known figure here in Guyana because he works for the government. He knows everybody and everybody knows him and that is also how he walks around. He has his own cup in the cafe and

is doing a lot of small talk with a lot of people. He even made me my try a dish called kreketea, when I asked him what that was he told me it was snails! Yuck! But I said I’ll try anything so I did! It will never be my favorite dish but it was okay it was not like the escargots people eat in europe this was made into some kind of curry so it didn’t taste that bad lol!
So we had a fun night with very nice people! A close friend of uncle David came to, he is a comedian in Guyana and has his own TV show, he is a really funny guy and it was a pleasure to meet him.
What was really cute is that one of the guys at the bar came to show his little son. He was so incredibly cute. I wanted to adopt him haha! I love little kids so much!
So to make a long story short I was finally allowed to take a peek into the man's world over here and that was pretty interesting, I guess man all over the world are the same. Going to bars, drinking beers and talking about woman.
