From a very old city (parts thereof) to a quite touristy part of France - everyone wants to come here, home of Cezanne.
The campground was hilly, wow was it hilly! But great. Pool, nice breezes. We wandered down for dinner - not a lot of choice anywhere really, not just the campsites: pizza, steak, chicken, chips. We each had steak and salad ... oh of course i5 comes with chips. Nice though. And then along came a young couple: she sings (beautifully) and he operates the keyboard, and accompanies in vocals. What a great voice! Called th3 Hey Jees- unfortunately not on the next night.
At 5.45 am awoken with lightning and thunder. James up and out, awning in, everything away, windows closed and ... whamo down came the rain. It finished in about an hour and the day was lovely.
We caught the bus into town and ... wandered. And wandered. And shopped. And wandered, Found a great Boulangerie for lunch in a side street away from the tourist hub. Then we caught a small “bus” that seated 4 and for 6E each we had an hourlong tour around side streets and byways. Great. A French woman told us some stories along the way. We found a veg shop on the way to the bus and James cooked pork ribs - yum again, I’m spoilt. While he cooked Suzanna got in some hill training - took down the washing, went to the pool (uphill), back to the laundry ... not done... up the hill, down the hill, up down then for the dryer ... lots of steps!! Need them.
Suzanna hasn’t found ‘the light’ of Provence quite what she expected as an artist (nor has James). Suzanna found the light in northern France more luminous- could be timing.
