Zanna and James 2018

How the years have flown, but none of us have changed! Suzanna met Kuschi and Martin in Sydney in 1984 when they travelled around Australia (and other places). We had great fun and kept in touch for many years by snail mail. They sent us Swiss shirts when we married in 1996.
Wow, what a reunion. Wine, a visit to Martin’s business and newly built houses, more wine ... Then a treat that can never be repeated. Martin drove up a private road in the mountain to a restaurant that you wouldn’t know was there - just the locals. We had a meal that will not be justified in its telling - pasta, like penne, cooked in a buillon then poached in cream/milk, cheese and onions: well, that’s my take on it. Yummo. Then meringue and cream. Oh and local beer and wine, did I mention that? Gorgeous.

Next day was super special too, just continued. A visit to Martin’s mum, so lovely and reminded us of his sister Vanessa. Then off to a lake in the mountains, a walk and then a rainstorm. The lake and the mountains, I can’t describe.

Then up another mountain and the rain came down, really hard. A quick run for the restaurant. A couple and baby having their wedding with family. This place has a special cheese - a bit like a soft parmesan yum. And a beer. And then the rain cleared and oh how lovely. Another lake below us.

And then, as if the day could provide no more ... down to Lake Zurich

to a little place they have, a bit like a NZ crib/bach, and a swim for Kuschi and Suzanna.

And then home for a BBQ. And a look at photos from their time in Sydney (no, of course Suzanna hasn’t changed!). Wow, so much to remember.

Next morning we had a leisurely breakfast and Martin had to leave for a meeting in Zurich. Kuschi and Suzanna picked blackberries and Kuschi was far too generous.

It was a happy/sad emotional farewell from these two - hard to believe it’s been 34 years, we just chatted like it was yesterday. And they loved James, as he did them. Thank you!

Again, imagine wonderful views!
