Zanna and James 2018

27/7. Sancerre
What a lovely spot by the Loire. Reminded us of being at Samur.
Our camp site looks out at the river, beautiful. Last night we walked into town, actually Saint Satur, found a lovely lolly shop, then had dinner on the terrace of a restaurant- great lamb meal. Suzanna was feeling the heat of the day. It gets hot later in the afternoon.

Today we drove to Henri Bourgeois winery - taxis didn’t want to know ... We did a wine tour with a group of English young people and two Americans. The woman who took us was lovely. Another 35 degree day, nice in the cellars! The wine tasting was terrific and we bought wine. Fantastic value at 12 euro for both of us! Highly recommend this to anyone coming this way.

James made one of his delights for dinner. A lovely Dutch couple with their boys in a camp tent next to us.

28/7. Today we drove into Sancerre, parked up a narrow street and walked. Wandered around, bought a gorgeous necklace and two small bags. Found the ruined castle, now protected and took the walk up the tower: 179 steep steps round and round ... fantastic 360 degree views. We walked back to the CC and then had to back down the hill - James is so good!

And tomorrow we will head east, towards Switzerland.
