What a wonderful couple of days. Sheer bliss. The views of glaciers, the sound of cowbells, the clear air, the great food and wine, the great chat.

Geoffrey, James and I took the chair lift up to a restaurant while very fit Jan walked up with Ricardo, gorgeous dog. Very close to a glacier that back in the 1950’s had claimed two air India planes.

Suzanna decided to walk down with Jan and Rico ... hard hard hard. Glad I had my walking poles. Met the boys at the bottom for a shandy.

Next day a walk that was definitely flatter, through an ‘exercise’ park, high ropes, abseiling, rock climbing etc, and had some lunch before Jan and I caught the bus into Chamonix for a shop. A real ski town.

A delicious paella for dinner and a bottle of Rockford Basket Press (yes, we took it with us) rounded off our wonderful time. Lovely memories.
