Cross-Country 2017

Took a nice ferry ride from Anacortes out to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. The ride takes about an hour, but it's a smooth ride, not all bobbing and rolling like the Cape May Ferry which can make you seasick, so it's very pleasant. The islands out here seem to go on and on. And its no wonder: there are 172 named San Juan islands and only four with ferry service. Seems like if you lived here it would make sense to own a boat, or else getting back and forth to the mainland would be a hassle and expensive. Lots of pontoon planes out

here too. Love the combination of big water and distant snow-capped peaks. Very peaceful.
