Cross-Country 2017

Overnighting off I-90 in another little town called Livingston, which was once the bustling starting point for scads of tourists on the way to our nation's first national park, Yellowstone. The Lewis and Clark expedition passed through here, and there were lots of Native Americans, gunslingers, and railroaders.

Like so many towns we've been through, Livingston has long passed its heyday. It's got historical sites, but not much else going on. Makes me kinda sad.

There did happen to be a town fair going on, so we headed over. We won four mini American flags for each of us correctly answering a question about the Constitution. We also got a free Keurig coffee machine from a company that donated 500 to give away at the fair. Then we watched the yodeling cowboys. The kids actually knew a couple of songs, because they play them on that 50s music station James like to listen to. Felt like we were out on the high prairie on a cattle drive. It was like listening to history.
