Cross-Country 2017
How could we possibly go across the country and back without a visit with our old friends Phil (plate-in-his-head) Birkensha, and his longsuffering wife, Stacy? Knowing that he had turned his previous enterprise -- the asphalt plant -- into a speedway was just too good to miss. But, alas, we were not fated to see any races last night because of rain. But we were able to join them for some food and fellowship on their rare Saturday night off. Their kids and respective others joined us. Josiah is married now! And Philisa is getting married on August 21st! Since Atchison is in the path of totality, this area is going to draw big crowds. A lot of Phil's neighbors are renting out their land as parking spaces, and they're nearly finished building a brand new Holiday Inn Express in town just to take advantage of the Eclipsers. Should be an interesting wedding. And they can get some great pictures.

Day at the Races?
