Roads were clear, traffic was light and we arrived in Guelph around 2:00 to no snow at all, nice. Dad was glad to see us, he looks terrific and was relaxing in his chair in the warmth of the sunshine pouring through the bay window. We arrived, he said, just in time because he was almost asleep!

After catching up, Tony mentioned the PC Leadership race and Dad was quite interested in watching the results. Well that still remains a farce as the results have not been confirmed. We are hoping for a miracle!

We went out for dinner to a lovely restaurant downtown , BIN 23. Tony and Dad shared Calamari, tender sautéed bites in a tomato, lemon, caper and olive sauce. I had house Pâté with a fig balsamic jam. Yummy. Dad said his short ribs were tender and melted in his mouth, Tony's scallops with ricotta and pepperonata ravioli were perfect and my salmon although a little overdone hit the spot. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy, our waiter very pleasant and attentive. We had a lovely time celebrating Dad's 95th. He is enjoying his many celebrations. On the actual day March 3, he was out with Carm and Vince with their families, after us, our children/grandchildren arrive Monday and then the Mike Limina family will be here to wind it all up. He enjoys the quieter times that allow him to chat, share stories, afterall when we are all in the room there are over thirty of us, a little busy for him.

To top the night off, Dad won at cards, "Scopa" and after Espresso and some Italian television we called it a night. A great visit with a wonderful man, who is still in his home and enjoying it. He is patient, kind and loving. A great day.

The evening ended with a toast, "Cento Anni", may you live 100 years!
