We were once again blessed with great riding weather. The temperatures were cool enough to be comfortable, and once again we managed to avoid any liquid sunshine of any measure.
We were able to enjoy some backroading through New Mexico - the only complaint I would have is that some of the roads - in spots - are in need of some resurfacing.

We started southwest along Hwy 550 towards Cuba, on some gently rolling farms and then caught UT96 north. After a rest/coffee stop at
the hamlet of Regina, we continued on 96 to Abiquiu Lake where we turned back south on US84 to San Juan Pueblo and then back north again to pick the very scenic and less travelled UT75 and 518 into the neat city of Taos. Just as we headed north out of San Juan Pueblo, we hit the southernmost point on out trip.
After lunch at the Alley Cantina just off the Taos town square, we continued on through the Carson National Forest on US 64 to Eagle Nest and then onward through Cimarron and then catching I25 north for the last 25 miles into Trinidad, CO - the first time since Day 15 that we have been even close to being on an interstate.
Part of today had a hint of The Duke - John Wayne - in it, as we travelled along the Rio Grande and then along the Santa Fe Trail :-). Dinner tonight was just take out from the Pizza Hut/Wing Street kiosk
across the parking lot.
Tomorrow, we will be facing our longest day - in terms of mileage - on this trip, as we start the trek across Kansas
