Big trip to the Rockies and back - 2017

Today was a very pleasant riding day. Even though it wound being the longest distance we have travelled at 660 kms, or 410 miles. it didn't feel like it.

And, I most certainly appreciated more the roads on the east side of Kansas to those of yesterday. We rode Hwy 160 all the way to Winfield and then cut south on Hwy 77 to pick up Hwy 166 in Arkansas City. After Chetopa, we took Hwy 69 into Oklahoma and then looped back into Kansas on Hwy 69A into Riverton. After a nice lunch at a neat little store in Riverton - the Old Riverton Store (Eisler

Brothers) - we continued along the Historic Old Route 66 into Missouri.

Just past Joplin we jumped onto I49 for about 30 miles and then picked up HWy 160 again at Lamar, After getting fueled up, we then got into some really fun roads through Missouri Amish country - with lots of rollercoaster hills and peace and quiet all around us - Roads E/215/Y/123 brought us to Humansville, MO.

The location that I had originally thought we might stay at for the night just wasn't suitable, so we continued on Hwy 123 to Weableau and the Hwy 54 to Hermitage. At that point Jana was able to find a place a couple of miles down the road and it was a winner! The Clearlight Inn, just off Pomme de Terre Lake, is a neat spot and dinner was just down the road at the Crappie Hole Bar & Grill.

Along today's route, my LiB passed the 120,000 km mark. You go girl! :-)

Tomorrow we travel through the Lake of the Ozarks area towards Illinois
