Big trip to the Rockies and back - 2017

The last day of July had us leaving Colorado - we'll be back - and heading into Utah.

It was a gorgeous, warm day with just a 2 minute sprinkle along the way. Of course, we are now at much lower elevations than what we were in while in Colorado.

We left Colorado in farm country and within a half hour we crossed into Utah. At Blanding, we picked up UT95 and it was a gorgeous ride. The scenery was just fantastic - as many pictures as we took

The scenery was just fantastic - as many pictures as we took

still didn't do it justice.

We did make a stop at the Natural Bridges National Monument and once again, it was fantastic. We did the 10 mile loop, saw all 3 bridges, and walked out to see the "horse collar ruins". Very worth while.

Back on Hwy 95 we went, and crossed into the Glen Canyon National Recreational Area for more stunning views and scenery. After a fuel/rest stop at Hanksville - where I had originally planned for us to stay for the night - we took Hwy 24 (another gorgeous ride) through the Capitol Reef National Park and into our destination for the night, the Days Inn. Dinner was across the parking lot at the local Subway.
