Italy Trip September, 2016

Drive back up to Pompeii, 2 1/2 hours. Very interesting history and we loved the tour Maria gave us. If not for her we would not have noticed, ruts in road stones made from wagons and charriots. Also all the phalic symbols and the brothel, where the frescos served as a menu to the sailors who had a language barrier. She also pointed out cats eyes in road that would illuminate with the moon or lanterns. Jim loved the coliseum which was actually being used for gladiator fights long before Romes. The casts of plaster with the actual bones of the poor people and animals that had no chance of surviving the ash that covered the town and measured 7 Feet above the roofs.
