Spent the morning locally. Started out at Gropina, which is a small hamlet of Loro Ciufenna. We drove to this hamlet looking for this very old church, only to find the hamlet dead ends through an alley way ( which we squeezed through) turned around parked down the road. The church is called Church of St Petro, donated in year 780. Then walked through our little town of Loro Ciufenna, which is very old and interesting. It has a huge gorge with a river running through the middle of town. There is an ancient mill which still runs today built in the 1100's, it is the oldest working flour mill in Tuscany. There is a ancient bridge that was built to protect the castle, with medieval markings high over the gorge. Then we took the afternoon off to swim at the pool, have some wine, cheese, sausage, peppers and bread. Then we played some tennis with thunderstorm looming over the mountains. Before dinner went to another local vineyard and tasted more wine and visited with a sweet old Italian worm who didn't speak a word of English.
