Italy Trip September, 2016

On our way to La Ferriera we decided to stop in Florence (Firenze). Parking is impossible in the city. After driving around for an hour and a half we find a parking garage, Parcheggia, and take off on foot to find the David and the Duomo. Very crowded but beautiful old city. The Duomo was amazing as was the David. Waited online for the David another hour and a half. Then it hits us we don't know exactly what street the parking garage is on. We figure we can find our way, then the heavens open up. We duck into a doorway and a taxi cab pulls up and drops someone off. We ask her to take us to Parcheggia parking garage only to find out ALL the parking garages are called Parcheggia. I drop my camera in the cab and it is gone. Back on foot and we wind up back at the Duomo!!!! Start again and find our way at least half way when we can't recognize anything. A distinguished gentleman, Giovani, walks by and we ask if he speaks English. When he replies that he does Jim says "I love you"! He cracks up and walks us at least 6 blocks out of his way to get to the car. The best part is we parked at this huge relic of a fort but we're on the wrong side of it, so we didn't know to tell anyone that we were at the Fort Parcheggia. So begins the Hot Mess twins as we are now referring to ourselves.
