Day 73: Blue Mountains!

Blue Mountains, Sydney, 10.23.2019

Today I booked onto a day tour that took me to the Blue Mountains. This took around 3/4 hours to drive up there so it was a 7am pick up. It was a beautiful sunny day which was great and the tour guide was really nice. With me being on my own, he told me to sit in the front with him so we could talk to one another. When we got there we took a sky rail across the mountains to see the beautiful view. The tour guide then took us on a boardwalk through the rain forest, talking to us about the wildlife, the trees and the coal mining industry.

After seeing the Blue Mountains we headed to a cute little town called Leura where we had lunch at a lovely pub. I then found a bakery on the main high street where I bought a yummy cream cupcake. On the way back towards Sydney we stopped at a Wildlife park. There was everything there, crocs, kangaroo, koalas, dingos, birds.... so much to see! I enjoyed wondering around at my own pace and it was lovely and hot too. Instead of driving back to Sydney, we took a boat down the river which finished up underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
I quickly headed back to the hostel to shower and change and then I took a train out to Cronulla where Sarah lives. It was Uncle Simon's anniversary today so it was good to spend it with Sarah. We went to her friend's house where it got a bit wild after they had a few too many wines but it was good to see Sarah again and to see what her flat was like.

A Trip of a Lifetime!
