Day 98: Reunited!

Today we left Paihia at 2pm, so Marissa, James, Ellie and I decided to do a hike in the morning up to a view point before we left. The hike took around 45 min and it was quite tough because the hill was so steep. The view at the top was worth it though, it was panoramic and you could see all around the bay. We headed back down to the bottom and decided to chill on the beach for a while so we could cool down. The bus back to Auckland took 4 hours and we arrived back there for 6pm. We were staying in Nomads Hostel, which was far worse than base. Not very clean and the bathrooms were dreadful! This evening I met up with Ellie and Callum who I had travelled with in Vietnam. We had a drink at a Irish pub! I then met up with Sid, who lives in Auckland! I met Sid last summer when I did my Plan My Gap Year trip in Bali so it was great to be able to see her again in her home town! We went to a cute little restaurant on the water front and then Sid kindly drove me back to my hostel. I hope I can see her again soon!
