Day 86: Wine and chocolate

Yarra Valley, 11.05.2019

Today the weather looked to have improved somewhat. Sam wanted to take me to Yarra Valley to visit a winery, the Balgownie Vineyard and Estate. We arrived around lunchtime and were very lucky to get a table. Today it was Melbourne Cup day, a bank holiday for everyone so it was very busy. We had a very fancy lunch which Sam very kindly treated me to. I had barramundi fish and Sam had a steak. I ordered Rose and Sam ordered red wine however we ended up swapping because Sam wasn’t a fan. It was too dry for someone that only drinks sweet wine! After lunch we headed down the road to the Chocolaterie. This was like chocolate heaven, with every flavour imaginable on offer. We bought some honeycomb chocolate and some red cherry chocolate for Sam and then purchased a box of 6 specially crafted chocolates. We ate this box of 6 after we had had a walk around the green fields. We sat on the grass in the sun and ate each chocolate one by one. Each taking a bite from each one so we could try them all! It was a lovely day, and the last of Sams holiday time off work. I thought it was a great end to our little holiday together. We headed home and had an easy dinner so we could get an early night. I had beans on toast and Sam made himself a sandwich.

A Trip of a Lifetime!
