My diary

Today we left Montgomery, Alabama, we are going to The Fort Sumter National Monument. We stopped at a gas station in Montgomery called "Entec" to have our tank full before we left, gas was $2.36 per gallon, it was $27.18 for a full tank. Finally we left to our hotel after 7 hours and 10 of driving, I am so tired from this drive, I need a nap. Don't get me wrong, we took turns driving. We stayed at this hotel called "Home Inn and Suites" it was $46 a night. We woke up at 8:30 to get a goodnight sleep. The entrance fee was $3 per person, $9 in total. The 3 facts we have about this place is that it was the 1st battle of the American War. Fort Sumter fell 34 hours later, 85 union soldiers surrendered. Abner Doubleday fired the first shots in defense of the fort. Thats when the Civil War began. All the money we had left was $2,825.97.
