- Day 1: Today we are heading to Washington D.C. to visit the Obelisk. This is going to take 4 hours and 25 minutes (268.7 miles). We stopped to get gas, we put $16.39 in the tank.
We finally made it to Washington D.C. we stopped off at hotel called Duo Nomad for $34. After booking are room, we took another power nap to get energized for another long walk. We made to the Obelisk in 9 minutes walking, Now time for exploring. So sad part is that we could not go to the top of the obelisk because they have to remodernize the elevator control systems. We had the chance to walk around and take pictures. The Washington Monument is an obelisk on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., built to honor George Washington, once commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the first President of the United States. The day is finally over, now its bed time.
- Day 2: We started driving to Arlington, VA to go see The National Marine Memorial which only took us 15 minutes to get there. Today was an easy day. This memorial was constructed in September 1954 and opened in November 10, 1954. The Architect was Felix de Weldon. This Memorial was dedicated on November 10, 1954, by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. This memorial represents this nation's gratitude to Marines and those who have fought beside them. While the statue portray one of the most famous incidents of World War II, the memorial is dedicated to all Marines. ( $2,545.48 remaining balance )
