Today we are off to Memphis, Tennessee, National Civil Rights Museum. This is going to take 6 hours and 53 minutes. We have 466.6 miles to go. The driving views out here are not as nice as we thought, there is a lot of farms and crossing over bridges. We only made one quick stop, we got our 99 cent Arizona's and some 1.99 bag of veggie chips since this was only a 6 hour trip we rushed there. we stopped off at a shell gas station, we put $27.29 in the tank.
We finally made it to Tennessee we booked a room for one night at Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis Beale-street for $169, which is 4 minutes away from the museum. Its Morning now; 8 am we got ready and ate breakfast and walked to the museum and it opened at 9. After the tour at the museum we had a great time we learned what happen in the past for Martin Luther King Jr. and where he got shot in April 4, 1968 also Rosa Park. it was a great emotional experience. The first exhibit that caught our eye was the STANDING UP BY SITTING DOWN: STUDENT SIT-INS 1960, they had the original lunch counter, along with three-dimensional figures sitting in at the counter and hecklers at their side. The second exhibit was KING'S LAST HOURS: ROOMS 306 AND 307, they had 2 rooms with the untouched plates and beds. We stayed at the museum for 3 hours and went back to the Hampton's and got our stuff then headed out. $3,088.67 was left in our bank account.
