After a last minute change of plans, we found a wonderful place off-the-beaten-path. Yes, another day, another beautiful body of water. Crater Azul is a little known gem located in Sayaxché. After a bumpy ride on an unpaved road, we made it to the boat that took us down the river to a beautiful lagoon in the middle of a wildlife refuge. We swam the crystalline waters and saw the aquatic gardens. With very little visitors, this place was so quite and peaceful. One of the many reasons I love to travel off-the-beaten-path.
