Let me introduce you to John, our guide, who took us into the monumental sand dunes of the Sossusvlei which forms a part of the great Namib Desert.
John found life where I thought there was none, underground tunneling spiders, a scorpion that he dug from its underground lair, we followed tracks of lizards, birds and ground moles and he told us of ancient waterways and rock formations.
John has this mesmerising enthusiasm for the desert and its secrets, he shared his life long experience and knowledge and then he set up lunch under a giant camel thorn tree accompanied with cold beer and wines !
