South Africa + Namiba

African Road Trip 1st to 24 May 2016
Cape Town, South Africa to Windhoek, Namibia, we did just over 4000 kilometers in a Dodge Journey SUV we nicknamed " Rodge", and not one flat tyre .

The excitement is palpable as we leave home and head to Perth International for our overnight flight to Johannesburg South Africa.

Our special "Uber Girl " Lyn takes us in style and has a champagne
surprise on ice in the car for us to enjoy on the way to the airport.

Another special surprise on our arrival at the check-in gate as Graeme has gone and upgraded us to Business Class...WOW...so we check in and head to the business lounge for more bubbles !

After a a wonderful flight we arrive in Johannesburg early sunday morning and transfer to our Cape Town flight.

We arrive in Cape Town greeted by glorious sunshine and a vivid blue sky, once we clear customs and collect our luggage our driver whisks us away very quickly along the airport exit and onto the freeway that will take us to into town and to our hotel.

We pass many shanty towns as we enter the city, past the massive Cape Town Stadium and finally to our destination situated on the Atlantic waterfront.

As it is a little too early to check into our room we take a stroll along the promenade down to the V&A Waterfront and have an early lunch and the first of many South African beers.
